JAMAICAN Exxperience 41: Ocho Rios, Fern Gully1

FERN GULLY  original  was a riverbed with a great natural beauty. Very tall old trees covered with creepers shaded the gorge and plenty different kind of ferns. They have 600 different variety of ferns.

In the 1960ties they used the riverbed to built a road and Fern Gully became a main road directed to KINGSTON.

A by-pass for the heavy traffic is under Construction, to reduce the fumes from traffic because it killed the ferns. Fern Gully is still a NATIONAL PARK and to take plants away is strictly prohibited.
